As a church, we believe that we are called to love the Lord with our whole being. We do this by being obedient to His commands, by living a consistent life of faith, and by the desire to glorify Him in all aspects of life.
We also believe that the expression of this love for God is made visible through the love of people. Loving people is making the decision to do what is best for someone else by righteously, compassionately, and responsibly seeking their well-being without concern for what one will receive in return.
As a church, we believe that generosity is foundational to a fruitful life as a disciple of Jesus. Generosity is evident when the people of God demonstrate the willingness to be kind, forgiving, merciful, and unselfish.
A heart of generosity is also visible in the giving of time, talents, and treasures to people, the community, and the church.
As a church, we believe that integrity is living consistently with God’s standards. It is rooted in one’s heart and character.
It influences our thoughts, motivations, speech, and actions. Integrity embodies complete honesty, which includes what a disciple does in both public and private settings.
As a church, we believe that fervent prayer is spiritual communication with God. Prayer is more than running off a list of things that we need from God. It is a way for us to express our adoration for His greatness, acknowledge and confess our sins, express gratitude for all He has done, what He is currently doing, and all that He will do, a way to ask for His help, and to seek His will for our lives and our communities. We also believe that we are called to offer personal prayers, intercessory prayers, and corporate prayers.
As a church, we believe that worship is an inner attitude of reverence and love for God in response to His greatness, goodness, and saving grace. Worship can be expressed through various means such as obedience, prayer, studying Scripture, praise, sacrifice, paying tithes and offerings, and service to others.
As a church we believe that empathy leads to compassion. Empathy is the ability to understand and share the feelings of another. Compassion is a concern for the sufferings or misfortunes of others that triggers an action or response.
As a church, we believe that through faith in Jesus Christ, believers are reconciled to God, thus belonging to His family. We believe the Church (Body of Christ) is a community of imperfect people on a faith journey together that support one another, encourage one another, and bear one another’s burdens while actively participating in the mission of becoming disciple making disciples.
Belonging to church includes being accountable to one another and to spiritual leaders. Christian hospitality creates an atmosphere where people feel embraced and valued within a community of faith. It breaks down barriers of isolation and exclusion, allowing all individuals, including the disenfranchised and marginalized to feel like they truly belong.
As a church, we believe that the mission of every believer is to go, make, baptize, and teach disciples of Jesus. Discipleship is the process of being conformed to the image of Jesus, and living life as His visible and verbal follower. Discipleship is a way of life that requires the investment of time and energy, and involves consistent prayer, fellowship with other believers, and a commitment to learning about Jesus through His Word. Discipleship is the means by which the body of Christ grows and builds itself up in love as each part does its work.
